We had a fun day hanging out around the house this morning. Ed and Coral helped Cris lug the very heavy sectional sofa down to the basement, which was a huge job accomplished. After bath and nap we headed over to Seven Falls. While we were waiting in line to buy our tickets it started raining, but we decided to wait it out, since it rains every stinking afternoon, but usually only lasts about 30 minutes. The rain did let up, so we started up the 250 steps to get up close and personal with the Seven Falls, then since it still wasn't really raining we started on the 1 mile hiking trail. We were a pretty decent way into the trail when the lingering raincloud opened up and POURED on us, complete with thunder, and very very close lightening, so we hightailed it back down the trail, and down the 250 steps, and down the mountain elevator and straight back to the van. Cris made some kind of crazy statement about how that was WAYYY more fun than doing the hike on a regular old sunny day. i don't think i really agree with that, although it was an adventure.
On the way home this afternoon i got some very very sad news. My dept had told me that i would have until 10 August to start seeing patients, but this evening the department chief called to tell me i will start seeing patients on Wed. On thursday i have a very long Labor and Delivery shift, and then Friday i work another full day. That basically means i have 1 more day until i start work. I don't feel prepared to leave the girls again all day every day. i thought i had at least another week to prepare myself for being away from them all day. I'm trying to stay positive about it since there is really nothing i can do at this point. Oh, also they still haven't located the stuff we sent over from hawaii. they sort of located it, but haven't actually told me where it is. hopefully that will be resolved by the end of the week.
anyway, all the yucky work and moving stuff aside, here are some pictures of our day:
Alex and Lyndsey dressing Nova after her bath. Having 2 11 year olds around this week has been amazing. Today the girls were fed, entertained, bathed, and put down for nap without me basically lifting a finger. it was awesome.

mmmm....popsicles. When juneau got tired of her popsicle she convinced her cousin to switch her, then when she got tired fo that one she tried to convince nova to trade. nova wasn't so keen on the idea!
worn out after a fun morning of playing hard with cousins. Nova fell fast asleep on the futon watching Sesame Street.

Emmy - I love keeping up with your family through your blog! I enjoy each post complete with pictures of the girls having a great time being little girls. You have inspired me to include pictures at the end of my blog as well. Thank you for that.
Keep up the great work that you do blogging and OBGYN-ing. God will see you through this new position. I pray that you are so busy that you will have little time to miss the babies. I pray that your time together will be wonderful and exciting filling you up with their love for the work week ahead.
