Cris has been doing such a fantastic job keeping up the blog! The girls stories are so cute, and i love the pictures so much, i almost hate to interrupt with my boring entry!
things are going smoothly here as i am finishing up the end of training tomorrow. i can't give many details on the blog without the possibility of getting myself into trouble, but feel free to email if you are interested in details or my new address. i would love to be able to post some more info on a password protected post, but blogger is kind of silly and won't let you password protect individual posts, only the entire blog, and i'm just not sure i want to do that. so i will just continue to be a little vague.
i got excused from 4 hours of "first aid" training this afternoon, which was awesome. i guess it kind of does pay off to have a medical degree :) i spent the afternoon shopping for last minute necessities (and also for 75% off halloween costumes at target for the girls to play with!). it was nice to have some free time since my days have been ridiculously busy. i have been getting up at about 4 a.m. and getting home around 6 p.m. Tomorrow is another early day with weapons training and qualifiying with our individual weapons.
there are lots of nice and friendly people here...i haven't yet met anyone going to my particular duty station, but i have met a lot of very nice people. it was kind of funny the first day, actually. i was sitting around feeling just a bit sorry for myself that i had to leave my little girls behind, and i started talking to the girl next to me, who was a preventative medicine doctor. it turns out she has SIX kids she left at home and is deploying for an entire year! after i heard that i pretty much stopped my tiny personal pity party :)
i guess thats about all my news for today. i am enjoying my last couple of nights on a comfy cozy tempurpedic mattress before i start sleeping on a cot for the next 6 months! i have gone through all four humongous duffel bags of gear, and for the most part have everything organized and ready to go. soon, the real adventure begins!

I've been reading your blog for a long time, even though I don't comment often. My best to you as you deplot. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be away from my family for six months!
If you wanted to password protect some posts, you could open a Wordpress account and then link to those PW protected posts on this blog. :)
BTW, I love that you are both posting. I love following the girls, but I hope you will be able to write a bit while you are away, too!
