We got some great news from our agency this week! 2 families who are adopting children through our agency got their travel approval! They submitted their I600 about 1 month before us. They got their approval on business day #63. We are on business day #45. They both have baby boys waiting for them at Juneau's orphanage. They are leaving on June 14th to bring home their children! This is great news for us because it means the government has been approving visas for children from our orphanage. Our turn is definately soon! Our agency is predicting we will travel sometime in July. The orphanage is very anxious to have the families bring home their babies because the orphanage is very over crowded. There is only room for 10 babies at the orphanage, and they are at full capacity now, as the govt has been taking so long to approve the families cases. Several children have been turned away from the orphanage recently due to overcrowding.
On to Juneau's update:
Juneau Iris is now 8.5 months. In her pictures she looks like she might be trying to crawl, she is definately sitting, and in one picture it almost looks like she is standing and holding on to the side of her crib, although i can't verify that one because the pictures have been photoshopped with a different background. Anyway, she continues to be as cute as a little button. Her hair is starting to grow out a little. I can't see if she has any teeth yet, but she has the cutest, tiny little mouth. She looks very alert, and although she isn't smiling in her pictures, she looks happy.
Measurements at 8.5 months
Length - 26.8 inches (59%)
Weight - 18 pounds (49%)
We love you beautiful baby girl. You have a very excited Mommy and Daddy and baby sister waiting for you in Hawaii. Hurry home to your family sweet Juneau.
