Nova's 1 month update

Dear Little Nova,

Yesterday you turned one month old. The last month has been pretty unbelievable. Your daddy and I were totally unprepared for how much we would adore you. We knew it was going to be amazing to have a daughter, but we didn't know just how amazing it would be. We spent the first couple of weeks just staring at you all day long. You didn't really have much of a reaction to us, but it didn't matter. We thought you were incredibly adorable and sweet.

Here are some things we have discovered about you in your first month of life.

*You are a total cuddlebug. You love to be held close, and to snuggle up on your mommy's chest. Sometimes if you are fussy your dad will snuggle in really close, and you settle right down.

*You love showers! You took your first shower when you were 1 week old, the day after your umbilical cord fell off, and you loved it. You've tried a few baths, but for now prefer the shower.

*You smiled for the first time at 3 1/2 weeks! We didn't really believe it at first, but we kept making funny faces and tickling your tummy, and you kept smiling, so we finally accepted it. It's the cutest little smile, and it makes your little dimples pop out.

*You love drinking your milk! You have been growing like a little weed. I don't have a recent "official" weight, but i think you are close to 10 pounds. You tried your first bottle at 4 weeks, and didn't really want much to do with it, but you are catching on pretty quick, and drank your bottle really well for your dad yesterday.

*You are sporting a pretty funky hairdo right now. All the hair on the top of your head fell out, but you still have a pretty decent amount around the sides and the back.

*You can recognize your mom and dad's voices, and as soon as we talk you start looking around to find out where we are.

*Your favorite songs right now are "You are My Sunshine" and "Fight the Team"
