The Friday night plan seemed foolproof to ensure that we'd actually see the fireworks this week...picnic actually AT Magic Island where we actually would watch the fireworks from. No chance of being late, no chance of missing them...perfect.
So, in order to make it possible for me to get out of the lab and still make it to the shindig, Beth offered to keep the girls in the afternoon while I was in class. So, at lunchtime, we headed over to Melody's house and the 3 girls spend the afternoon playing with Aunt Wallie.
It's no use fighting it...Nova's inner princess is unavoidable.
Watching Toy Story 3
All three girls were tired so they laid down for a nap...for about 30 seconds...then were back at it.
Luckily, it NEVER rains in Waikiki...except for today. The ONE contingency we didn't plan for.So, the whole crowd assembled for indoor picnic at Tim and Beth's house.
The cupcakes I brought (homemade of course - by the NEX bakery) were a hit with the kids.
And there was lots of playing and tearing apart of Beth's living room.
Oma stayed busy with this jigsaw puzzle and had it polished off before the night was over.
It was a toss-up as to who was cuter in the bunny ears:

Though it was pushing 9:00 pm and there had been no naps, the girls were still going strong tearing apart Melody's room.
The night couldn't be complete though until Melody and Juneau cuddled up on the couch to read a book together. 
Though I captured a classic and potentially embarrassing video of Tim playing kids tunes on his guitar, the threat legal action (after all, his wife does work for a law firm) prevented it's posting tonight. Perhaps once the threat of a restraining order has worn off.

I said "Nova, can you tell sissy I love you...Nova?...Nova?" We were barely 2 minutes out of the driveway and Nova was already out cold.
In talking to Emilie tonight, your prayers would be appreciated for the coming months...there are alot of things up in the air and she is hearing alot of different things about where / how she will be spending her summer (and beyond). We have been trusting (maybe inappropriately) that a couple people would come through on their word of Emilie transferring to Hawaii during the summer so please be praying that those people come through on what they've said so we don't end up living long distance for most of another year.
